SPORTS BLINK – “Huawei Had a Deal to Give Washington Redskins’ Fans Free Wi-Fi, Until the Government Stepped In,” by WSJ’s Stu Woo and Andrew Beaton: “Two years after a congressional report labeled Huawei Technologies Co. a national-security threat, the Chinese firm unexpectedly scored a big-name ally in Washington. It was the Redskins, the capital’s National Football League franchise. Huawei reached an agreement in 2014 to beam Wi-Fi through the suites at the team’s FedEx Field, in exchange for advertising in the stadium and during broadcasts.
“It was a marketing coup for a company hankering to beef up its meager U.S. business and boost its image inside the Beltway. But the deal didn’t last long. A government adviser read about the partnership. He knew the FedEx Field suites were a frequent haunt for lawmakers and senior officials across many agencies. So he triggered an unofficial federal complaint to the Redskins, who quietly tore up the deal.”

I had an interesting thought the other day: socialism is modern feudalism. All the wealth and ownership is present in the government, with lords "electing" their king. Peasents have no recourse or path to success unless they are somehow granted titles in the party.

Will you favor me with some background on that? South Park, right?

Yep. The episode was called Go Fund Yourself. That was when Washington's football team lost their trademark.

And they tried to pin the tale on Hillary Rodham Clinton
and look where
it got us: Family Feudalism.

I wonder what one could call modern trickle down Murkan “capitalism”, which has given the nation less socio- economic mobility than its first world peers, along with worse life expectancies and other quality of life indices.

Capitalism has increased the standard of livi ng in this world immeasurably, none of these socialist nations have. So please try again.

No shortage of braying jackasses in Washington.
Boy, that's a multifaceted joke.

We’re not talking about capitalism, we are talking about the objectivist trickle down horseshit that has fooled American rubes for the past 35 years and continues to con these temporarily embarrassed millionaires more each year as their peers in other developed nations experience further gains in quality of life as the US becomes more of a bastion of dynastic wealth and affluenza. Try again indeed.
Most people who scream about “socialism” couldn’t define the term if their lives depended on it, and proudly gloat about “capitalism” while also being able to define it. Socialism doesn’t exist in practice. Capitalism doesn’t exist in practice.

So you want to go back to... 70s capitalism? Could you explain that one to me because I don’t understand how that would make my life better. Or different at all.
As far as I’m concened "capitalism" has always been trickl e down. The only thing that changed was tax policy. I don't expect to live better by being taxed more.

Y our individual life isn’t what I am concerned about . I don’t know about your circumstances, but I suspect you might think Ayn Rand was on to something. What would you like explained? I think it is simple, revisit what existed before “pity the rich” became the ethos for economic policy. If the old moaners want to “make America great again”, they do a funny job at it with their policies that are the opposite of what gave so much to the luckiest generation.
You won’t live better under a growing socio-economic chasm and declining quality of life factors , either.

Look, I’m not going to go into a college economics course on a car forum. I highly suggest you separate emotional responses from logical arguments. I made a statement disparaging chinese socialism, which mind you they are active murderers. You take it as a personal attack as you believe in aspects of socialism. That is fine. However, in this situation you are defending the inherent flaws of your system. Personally, I don’t believe that humans are capable of effective government, and I perfer systems that more closesly resemble meritocracy.
TLDR don't argue politics on the internet.

Where has actual socialism been in practice? Or actual capitalism? China isn’t socialist, it is a kleptocracy with both socialist and capitalist traits. Not sure if you are in a position to suggest anything to me , no doubt your knowledge and credentials are laudable, but thanks.
TLDR American capitalism, especially in the past couple generations, is about as far from any idea of meritocracy as 45 is from being a bootstrapping capitalist.

You want to talk whether I am qualified to speak on the subject? Ok:
Ad Hominem Fallacy:
https://philosophy.lander.edu/logic/person.html
You instantly fail the basic rules of debate. Hence, I decline to acknowledge your argument. Since this is no longer an intellectual debate: I feel free to retort.
Fuck off you commie bastard. You will get this country over my dead body. Stalin. Mao. Castro. Mihn. They were communist. Then Marx said “not me!” Then they were socialist. Now apparantly in 2018 when socialism is back in fashion
it’s a kleptocracy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideology_of_the_Communist_Party_of_China
Kleptocracy? you mean taking what you didn’t work for, what doesn’t belong to you? Stop taking my paycheck, I WORKED FOR IT.
My great grandfather greatly appreciated socialism. Especially when the socialists decided to take his family farm “for the good of the collective” and left my family destitute.
Over my dead fucking body.

Yes, you can link junk all you want while spouting off about giving advice, but the knowledge and experience of the lecturer are relevant. No different than if the president tried to lecture someone about fitness. Not much of merit, eh? You decline to acknowledge because you can’t refute . Typical from someone who likely has been conned by objectivism. Nice try though.
Who’s a commie? LOL are you just playing now? Funny. If you’re going to post wikipedia and babble about terms from a high school debate class , maybe read up and practice what you preach. Intellectual debate? When was this an intellectual debate?
Red China calling itself communist is like North Korea calling itself Democratic, or deplorables calling themselves patriots. Just because they say it doesn’t make it true. Communism doesn’t exist in practice . Capitalism doesn’t exist in practice . The human condition corrupts everything.
Funny thing, you couldn’t do anything about it if it happened again . If they came again to take whatever you’ve somehow been able to acquire, nothing would change. You might take out a few of them, but they’d win and you’d be gone.
Merry Christmas, good luck, yo u’ll might need it.

I pity you. You are a stooge for power hungry thieves, and you can’t form a coherent argument nor refute my logic, nor provide sources.
Merry christmas to you too. As a christian, I am sure you should stick to christian philosophy: don’t covet thy neighbor’s goods.

LOL yes, those who are temporarily embarrassed millionaires are ones to call someone else stooges for thieves. Funny guy. When one examines the evolution of the American socio-economic chasm and economic mobility compared to other developed western nations since the trickle down lie pretending to be “capitalism” was introduced to the rubes, truly amusing and astounding both. Well played. Not sure where sources were requested, but asking for things long after the fact, as a way to distract, is surely a sign of someone with endless ability who is no doubt a leader in his field and community both. A true intellectual giant and academic powerhouse.
Christianity, especially as preached on this side of the pond, is as much of a con as the Randian prattle embraced by those gits who scream “commie” whenever they fear their fairytale is being challenged. If that’s all you have, you deserve so much pity that you can indeed give some away.

Ok now, having wished me a merry christmas, then state that christianity is a con, I’m going to assume you are trolling, and failing miserably. Try splinter or the root, it works better over there. Maybe someday you can be a real person if you work hard, but I rather doubt it.

I dunno, you keep replying, looks like the trolling is actually somewhat successful. Fairytales, one of the opiates of the drones.
Keep giving advice though, someone of your accomplishments and mettle could teach everyone a thing or two, no doubt. Must have been the star of 10th grade debate class in some nowhere shithole.
A trickle down objectivist talking about a “real person”, oh the irony.
